Goh Xueqi (Stella)

Xueqi started as a Pipa Soloist and participated in local competitions including National Chinese Music Competition organised by National Arts Council and International Instrumental Competition held by Cristofori Music. She subsequently participated Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra and Chengsan Chinese Orchestra with Hsing Hai Chinese Orchestra, having her debut concerto in 2009. She had also been awarded Distinction for Diploma in Pipa Performing held by National University of Singapore.

Apart from solo works, Xueqi has worked on modern pop performance as well as improvisational music with various ethnic instruments with Singapore music groups. She had been part of The Pipa Quartet (5 years), The QI Ensemble (10 years), The Ju Quartet (5 years), Si Yun Quartet and is the founder of Two Four and Six Fusion.

Having participated in commercial and artistic showcases, recent show involvement includes:

  • Two Four and Six Fusion – Are you ready? Four by Four, Stay Upbeat showcase performances at The Esplanade

  • The QI Ensemble – National Day performance in Collaboration with Fullerton, Showcase performances including – Retro to Modern, PLAY

  • The Pipa Quartet: Asia Tour in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore recital concert at School of the Arts Theatre and The Esplanade (Singapore), Damansara Performing Arts Centre (Malaysia), Bangkok Art’s and Culture Centre (Thailand)

  • Featured soloist with Fashion-in-Theatre production

  • Regular Session artist with Handpan Duo as well as Esplanade showcase performance – Overtone: A meeting of Two Sounds

  • Studio Recording with local film production – TimeScapes Anthropology and Theme Song 祖先保佑

  • Featured performer for Thailand Royalty events
